Losing My Mind in Barcelona, Part 3: Places

by janafadness on March 7, 2012

I thought I’d end my series on Barcelona with a few of my favorite pictures of some of the places I visited. I’m no professional photographer, but still I think a lot of these turned out quite well. Enjoy! :D

Sagrada Familia

Guell Park

Las Ramblas

The Port

Montserrat

Some Closing Thoughts…

I only stayed in Barcelona for ten days, but even in this short time I felt like this city really got under my skin. It has a unique atmosphere unlike any other city I’ve been to before, and there is something incredibly intoxicating about it.

During this trip, I made new friends, learned some lessons about human relationships, ate great food, got lots of exercise from walking, and developed a new-found fondness for the Spanish language.

It was more than worthwhile, and I’d love to visit Barcelona again in the future if I get the chance. Next time though, I’ll beware of its potential effects on my sanity!

It might be strange, but I loved Las Ramblas the most. It was always so dense and filled with all sorts of people, both during the day and night.
In a way, it serves as a snapshot of cultural diversity. You could meet anyone, no matter which language they spoke, which country they come from, what social status they possess, what do they do for a living. For me, this encompassed everything that Barcelona is about.

That is a lovely description of Las Ramblas! I’d never thought of it that way, but I can definitely see where you’re coming from. =) Barcelona is indeed a very diverse city, and that’s a big part of what makes it so interesting!
